Yr 10 What are we doing at the moment?

Well, we have been looking recently at giving directions to places and also how to ask where something is. We shall be doing further work on this including using prepositions in our work (the ppt to be used in the lesson can be found in the box on the bottom right hand side of the page – preps one) and we shall also be using the lovely site www.languagesonline.org.uk to consolidate this work. Amusez-vous bien!

7AB – What have we been doing?

Well the class really is working great! I know that you all try so hard, so keep going! Recently We have been learning to say when our birthday is Wann hast du Geburtstag? … Ich habe am zehnten November Geburtstag. To see the ppt used in the lesson, scroll down to the bottom of my blog and look in the resource box on the right hand side. Don’t forget your homework sheet based on this lesson is due in on Thurs/ Fri.

8R1 What have we been doing?

So far we have been having a look at tenses and in particular the perfect (past) tense. We know that it describes what has happened and is finished and is made up of 3 bits:

1. person/thing doing the verb

2. appropriate part of the verb avoir (or être – more on that later) that matches the person – see avoir sheet

3. past participle, remember infinitives ending in -er change to é,infinitives ending in -ir change to i and infinitives ending in -re change to u.

Ta-da! My 1st blogpost!

Well here it is – my 1st blogpost! I think this will be a huge learning curve for me this year as I am essentially teaching myself as I go along. The widget stuff is easy as you just click on other widgets you see and paste them into your blog but now I really do need to get down to business and work on the function of my blog. Please have patience – I’m no techno dinosaur but I know that I can use ICT more effectively sometimes!

A bientôt!
