10Fr2 Speaking Questions

Just a word of advice – you MUST keep up to date with the speaking questions we are covering in class. You can also find files that will help with these in the file box on the bottom right hand side of the blog.

Remember:

1. Look at the model answer sheets for each section.

2. Adapt these to your own answers in your red books.

3. Get your draft answers corrected by me.

4. Copy up the neat versions into your speaking test booklet.

5. LEARN THEM OFF BY HEART! YES BY HEART!

Bob’s your uncle (Robert est votre oncle!).

10 Fr2 Speaking questions – personal relationships

Last week and this week we are getting down to the nitty gritty and working through some speaking exam questions based on personal relationships. I have uploaded both powerpoints to the files box on the bottom right of the blog if you need to check things. Don’t forget that you must come for help if you are getting stuck. You MUST also learn these questions and answers as we are going along and we are revising the first page in the lesson on Tues with various methods eg. peer assessment, hotseating etc!! Can’t wait!!

Yr 10 – Watch out the X Factor, here come 10Fr2!

labamba2

Wow, what an interesting week we have had! We started a new topic on leisure and we started by revising some of the key sports etc and some basic phrases. Then we started to put some of these key phrases together to form the verse of a song. Using Mrs Hampson’s marvellous laptop technology, each small group recorded a verse  to the tune of the song  ‘La Bamba’, using a midi file as a backing track and using the Audacity software to achieve this!

Then Mrs H took home the saved efforts (which had been saved in wav format) and ‘mixed’ the verses onto the backing track using Audacity. It has been saved in an MP3 format and here is the final result (click on the link at the start of this post) – a bit cheesy we know (though not as cheesy as cheesy chipmunks Jenni & Sam!) but for a very first effort it was good and fun was had by all! Seriously though, it is well known that language learning through the media of songs is a winner as phrases and vocab can be easier to remember! The only trouble is, I now have more classes queuing up for their turn! Well done 10Fr2 – Simon Cowell be afraid, be very afraid!!

Yr 10 What are we doing at the moment?

Well, we have been looking recently at giving directions to places and also how to ask where something is. We shall be doing further work on this including using prepositions in our work (the ppt to be used in the lesson can be found in the box on the bottom right hand side of the page – preps one) and we shall also be using the lovely site www.languagesonline.org.uk to consolidate this work. Amusez-vous bien!
